So here is my long awaited review of Heely shoes! My best friend (Andrea) and I tried them out and had some fun. First I would like to say that Heelys are more comfortable than what I thought they were going to be. When the Heelys are worn, you cannot feel the hardness of the wheel in the heel. The first pair that was sent to me was a H2 pair. The sizing and material (canvas like converse) were all wrong for me. Heelys customer service was very helpful and understanding. We were able to exchange to get a different style and size. Next we got a pair of Wave Heelys in black and pink.
Wave has a nice material and they fit us nicely. I tried wearing them to "break them in" but all they did was hurt my feet. I thought maybe if they carried half sizes, people like me would be able to wear them without any problems. I gave them to Andrea because they fit her without her feet hurting and we took the Heelys to the closest park. Before I go on, I will tell you that we recorded the whole time that Andrea Heely-ed. The video will be at the end of this post when I am done editing it.
Heelys has tutorial videos on their website that I watched because Andrea and I have never used Heelys before. I highly recommend watching them as they helped us tremendiously! So first, Andrea held onto my arm for balance and support for about three tries and then she was Heely-ing by herself. She gradually got further and more confident after each try. We had a blast skating in them.
My overall rating is 9 out 10. We gave them a 9 because of the no half size issue. Customer service receives 10 out of 10. Design and comfort is 9 out of 10. The fun factor rating is 10 out of 10.
I was so happy with Heelys and sad that I could not wear the pair that I received, that I went out and bought another pair from a local retailer. My style is #7676. They look almost exactly like the Wave pair. I am very happy I got them and they don't hurt my feet.
